Kong Qingyun Led Delegation to Shanghai Jiao Tong University for Academic Exchange

On November 4, a Fenghai delegation led by Chairwoman Kong Qingyun visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) for an academic exchange program. Deputy General Manager Xu Weiguo, General Manager Assistants Liu Mei and Chen Xiaobai, along with members of the R&D team, joined the visit.

The two sides first held a discussion session. Hu Weiwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SJTU, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided a detailed overview of the university’s history, distinguished alumni, international cooperation, and talent development programs. She also highlighted the practical experience of the National Academy of Excellent Engineers, the Advanced Industrial Technology Research Institute, and the neoBay Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community in industry-university-research cooperation and technological commercialization. Kong Qingyun stated that she looks forward to establishing effective coordination with the team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University to accelerate the full-chain cooperation model of “laboratory R&D + enterprise testing + industrial deployment”. She emphasized that the two sides can work closely on applications for national-level research programs, national-level first set of equipment demonstrations, and national engineering technology research centers, as well as on building platforms such as postgraduate and doctoral workstations. She noted that these efforts will help turn academic expertise into practical productivity for enterprises and open a new chapter of win-win cooperation between the university and the company.

During the meeting, representatives from six SJTU schools—the National Academy of Excellent Engineers, Advanced Industrial Technology Research Institute, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, and College of Smart Energy—presented thematic briefings. Both sides then held in-depth discussions on key technologies and topics, including optimization of new energy microgrid systems, improving the energy efficiency of large-scale desalination equipment, and brine resource utilization. The talks resulted in preliminary cooperation consensus, laying a solid foundation for deeper communication and collaboration.

After the meeting, the Fenghai delegation toured the Zero Bay Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
